MIFARE是NXP所拥有的13.56MHz非接触识别技术。NXP没有制造智能卡或智能卡读写器，而是在开放的市场上销售相关技术与芯片，卡片和读写器之制造商再利用它们的技术来创造独特的产品给一般使用者。MIFARE的非接触式读写功能是设计来为小额支付使用，如城市交通、智能停车、食堂收费等。
